Meet #6: Kings Charter Tidal Waves @ Twin Hickory Information

​The Kings Charter Tidal Waves will face the Twin Hickory Torpedoes for our sixth and final swim meet of the regular season on Tuesday, July 9th. The meet will start at 6:00pm and families can enter the pool deck no earlier than 4:30pm. The make-up date is Wednesday, July 10th. Twin Hickory will be celebrating their Senior Swimmers at the start of the meet.

Location: 4601 Twin Hickory Lake Dr, Glen Allen,VA 23059.

Attendance: Please remember to declare for the meet by indicating if your swimmer will attend. You should have already received an email that the meet is accepting entries. You can indicate your attendance by clicking “attending” or “not attending” for the Meet on the “View Meets” tab in the Parent Portal.

Parking : Kings Charter may park in the main parking lot.

Seating: Seating for the away team is located on the right of the pool, or straight in front of you as you enter the pool area. Please bring deck chairs for your use.

​Check‐In: Check in will begin at 4:30 and must be completed by 5:15. A table will be set up in the grass outside the gate for check in.

​*Warm-ups*: Away team will warm up from 5:20-5:40. Twin Hickory warm-ups will be from 5:00-5:20.

Relays: Relay assignments will be posted at the meet each week. Swimmers will be able to check these postings to see if they have been assigned to a relay team at the beginning of the meet. 8 & Under swimmers will find out relay assignments after the team cheer. As a reminder, 8 & Under relays are the first event and all other relays are at the end of the meet. Swim meet event order can be found on our website.

​Clerk of the Course: The Clerk of the Course is located in the back of the pool, near the starting blocks, on the side of the dive pool.

Restrooms: There are restrooms located on the side of the clubhouse, inside the pool area near concessions.

​*Concessions*: There will be food available for purchase, including burgers, hot dogs, candy, chips, soda, gatorade and water. Cash and credit are accepted. The Kona Ice truck will be on site.

​*Weather*: In the event of inclement weather we may have to exit the pool deck until conditions improve. Lifeguards are trained on and responsible for making a determination when the pool and the pool deck must be closed, prioritizing the safety of all present. If the deck is closed, please support the life guards and help clear the facility promptly. If we have to clear the deck due to the weather, you may wait in your cars. ​Start Times:

5:30pm First Half shifts will work from event #1 until event #27
8:00pm (approx.) Second Half shifts will work from event #28 until the end of meet


All volunteers must check-in with Marianne and Jason before 5:30pm, where the swimmers check-in with the coaches. If you are a second half volunteer and unable to check in by 5:30pm, please email at least 2 hours ahead of time so we will know when to expect you to check-in.


If you can no longer work the shift you signed up for, you are responsible for finding a substitute. Please reach out to other swim families for help, and notify us of the change at
